1. Who we are
These terms cover the bookwithlio.com website, the LIO app at app.bookwithlio.com and the online booking pages at form.bookwithlio.com (together, “LIO” or the “service”). “We”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator below.
The website and LIO service are operated by:
- Company name: Špela Zajc s.p.
- Registered address: Šaranovičeva cesta 31, Vir, 1230 Domžale, Slovenia.
- Registration number: 7569700000.
- Tax number: 12019674.
- Email: lio@bookwithlio.com.
The provider is not registered for VAT.
2. Who these terms apply to
A “business user” is a salon, studio, independent service provider or other organisation using LIO to manage its business. A “client” is a person booking an appointment with a business user. A “visitor” is someone browsing our website or a booking page.
The business-account provisions apply to business users acting in their trade or profession. The booking-page provisions also apply to clients. Merely visiting the public website does not create a paid subscription or a contract for a salon treatment.
When creating an account, you must have legal capacity to enter into the agreement. If you act for a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. These terms are to be made available before acceptance; any paid order must separately display its price and applicable conditions.
3. What LIO provides
LIO is a web-based business management and appointment-booking platform. It provides tools for services, working hours and availability, booking rules, client records, appointment communications, business statistics and enabled online payments. The functions available to you depend on the current service and any plan or separately agreed terms.
LIO supplies the software, not the treatments or other services offered by a business user. We do not employ, endorse or supervise providers merely because they use LIO, and we do not guarantee their qualifications, availability, service quality or compliance with professional rules.
4. Accounts and access
- Provide accurate, current account and business details and keep them up to date.
- Keep sign-in credentials confidential. Do not share access with unauthorised people or impersonate another person or business.
- Give employees or collaborators only the access they need and remove access when they leave.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or another security incident. Your responsibility for account activity does not exclude our responsibility for failures attributable to us.
5. Business users' responsibilities
You remain responsible for your services, licences, business information, prices, availability, working hours, appointment rules, taxes, invoices, cancellation policies, customer communications and fulfilment of services. Keep your booking page accurate and give clients the terms and privacy information required for your business and jurisdiction before they book.
You must have a lawful basis for entering or importing personal data, provide appropriate privacy notices and respect clients' rights. Only record information needed for a lawful business purpose. Free-text notes must not be used to collect unnecessary sensitive information.
If you process health information or other special-category data, you must establish both a legal basis under Article 6 GDPR and a condition under Article 9 GDPR, and ensure that appropriate contractual and security arrangements are in place. LIO is not a medical-record system.
6. Bookings and the relationship with your provider
A booking concerns the business user identified on the booking page. That provider, not LIO, is responsible for accepting and delivering the appointment and for any booking-specific price, deposit, refund, cancellation, lateness or no-show conditions.
Clients should provide accurate booking and contact details and check the date, time, location and provider's conditions. The status displayed on the booking page or in the provider's confirmation determines whether the appointment is requested or confirmed.
Clients can use the rescheduling link in their confirmation email where available, subject to the provider's rescheduling cutoff. Otherwise, contact the provider directly to change or cancel an appointment, resolve a treatment complaint or request a refund. Contact LIO for problems with the booking software. Nothing here removes mandatory rights that clients have against their provider.
LIO does not guarantee that a business will receive bookings, earn revenue, or that a client will attend an appointment.
7. Plans, trials and payment
Our Pricing page presents LIO Basic and LIO Pro, states that prices will be announced, and describes monthly and yearly billing as forthcoming. It is not a paid subscription offer. A “Start for free” invitation does not establish a particular trial length or authorise a future charge. Paid subscription pricing and billing conditions must be presented and accepted before a paid subscription begins.
Access may be free or subject to a paid plan or separately agreed offer. No price, trial length, automatic renewal or payment obligation is created by these terms alone. The applicable offer must explain the price, currency, billing period, included features, any trial conditions and whether the plan renews automatically before you commit.
For a paid plan, payment dates, renewal, cancellation and any refund entitlement are governed by the conditions disclosed and accepted for that plan, together with applicable law. We do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule through these terms.
A price change must be communicated before it applies to a future billing period. It must not retroactively alter an already agreed billing period. Appointment payments to a business user are separate from any subscription paid to LIO.
Payments for a business user's services: LIO's Stripe integration supports a deposit or full payment at booking where the business has enabled it. The integration uses Stripe Checkout and connected business accounts through Stripe Connect. The business sets its appointment charges and booking conditions; Stripe provides the payment and connected-account services. The relevant Stripe agreements and any separately disclosed payment-service fees also apply.
Access to online payments depends on Stripe onboarding, account eligibility and enabled capabilities. The business remains responsible for its client-facing refund and cancellation policies and for handling payment disputes under the applicable agreements and law. These terms do not promise a refund, a chargeback outcome, a payout date or payment availability in every country. They do not represent that LIO never receives payment-related information or has no platform role in the payment flow.
8. Permitted and prohibited use
Use LIO only for lawful purposes and within the access made available to you. You must not:
- Send spam, unlawful marketing, fraudulent bookings, abusive messages or misleading business information.
- Upload malware or content that infringes another person's privacy, intellectual property or other rights.
- Attempt to access other businesses' accounts, records or credentials without authorisation.
- Bypass security or access restrictions, overload the service, or scrape personal data without a lawful basis and authorisation.
- Resell the software or copy protected parts of it without permission, except where the law expressly permits this.
Report suspected security vulnerabilities privately to our contact email. This is not permission to access another person's data or to carry out disruptive testing.
9. Appointment messages and third-party services
Clients receive an email confirmation when they book; confirmations can also be sent for manually added appointments. Business users can customise email content and reminder timing, and set the rescheduling cutoff for the link in the confirmation. Business users must ensure that recipients and message contents are lawful. Transactional appointment messages must not be treated as consent for unrelated advertising.
Delivery can depend on accurate contact information, the recipient's settings and external communication services. A message may be delayed, filtered or fail to arrive. Providers and clients should not rely on reminders as their only record of an appointment.
External sign-in, communication or other integrations may have their own terms and privacy notices. Enabling an integration does not remove our obligations for processing carried out by us or on our behalf.
10. Your content and our intellectual property
You retain your rights in the business information, images and other content you submit. You give us only the permissions needed to host, display, transmit and otherwise process that content to provide the service, including displaying information you choose to publish on a booking page.
This permission does not transfer ownership of your content or permit unrelated advertising use. You must have the rights needed to upload and publish it. Personal data is handled under applicable data protection law, not as property licensed for unrestricted use.
LIO's name, branding, software and original website content remain protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these terms, business users may access the service for their business use during the applicable account or subscription period.
11. Privacy and processing client data
Our Privacy policy explains processing for which we are a controller, as well as our role when handling client data on a business user's behalf. Our Cookie policy covers browser storage.
For client records and appointment data processed on your instructions, you are normally the controller and LIO is a processor. Processing requires an agreement satisfying Article 28 GDPR, including the subject matter, duration, purposes, data types, instructions, confidentiality, security, subprocessors, rights assistance, incident assistance, audits and return or deletion of data.
These general terms and the public Privacy policy do not, by themselves, replace that data processing agreement or establish that one has been concluded. Business users must ensure that a binding Article 28 agreement is in place before processing client personal data through LIO where that article applies. Contact us about this requirement before relying on LIO as your processor. Any separately agreed data processing agreement prevails for the processing matters it specifically covers.
12. Availability, maintenance and changes to the service
We aim to provide a reliable service, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, updates, security work and outages affecting external services can interrupt access. These terms do not promise a specific uptime percentage or support response time.
We may improve or change the service. Material reductions to an agreed paid service must be handled consistently with the accepted plan and mandatory law, including appropriate notice and applicable remedies. Business users should maintain records they need for continuity and statutory obligations.
13. Suspension
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful use, a material breach of these terms, an applicable unpaid payment obligation or a binding legal requirement.
Restrictions should be proportionate to the issue. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain the reason and allow an opportunity to resolve it. Immediate action may be necessary to protect people, data or the service. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken.
14. Cancellation, account closure and data
You may request account closure by emailing us from the account's registered email address. We may verify your identity and authority before acting. Cancelling a paid plan, closing an account and cancelling a client's appointment are different actions; one should not be assumed to complete the others.
Before closing a business account, use the available client and booking CSV exports for records you need, arrange any additional required data return, and inform affected clients about upcoming appointments. These exports are not a complete account archive. Downloaded copies are under your control and are not erased by closing your LIO account.
Account removal involves an administrative process; ending sign-in access is not proof that all related records, stored files or external-provider data have been erased. We do not promise immediate or permanent erasure from every system or backup. Contact us to establish the scope of closure and data return for your account.
When the processing relationship ends, return or deletion of client data is governed by the applicable data processing agreement and legal requirements. Records we must retain as a controller, for example to meet legal obligations or address a dispute, may be kept for the relevant purpose, with restricted use.
Closure does not remove amounts already lawfully due or rights and duties that must continue after termination, including confidentiality, data protection and dispute resolution.
15. Liability and mandatory rights
Each party is responsible for breaches attributable to it in accordance with applicable law. We are not responsible for a provider's treatment or for a client's failure to attend merely because an appointment was managed through LIO.
To the extent permitted by law in a business-to-business relationship, we do not accept liability for indirect or consequential losses that are not recoverable under applicable law. This does not exclude liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury, fraud, infringement of data protection rights or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these terms restricts mandatory consumer protections, statutory remedies or the right to seek compensation under the GDPR. These terms do not create an arbitrary monetary liability cap.
16. Events outside reasonable control
A party is not responsible for a failure to perform to the extent that applicable law excuses performance because of an event outside its reasonable control. The affected party should take reasonable steps to limit the impact and inform the other party where appropriate. This does not override mandatory rights or excuse avoidable failures.
17. Complaints and consumer rights
Send complaints about LIO to lio@bookwithlio.com, describing the issue and the outcome you seek. Do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive client information. Complaints about a booked treatment should first go to the relevant provider.
LIO business accounts are intended for professional use. If you nevertheless enter into an agreement with us as a consumer, mandatory consumer law applies, including any applicable information duties, withdrawal rights and remedies for digital services. Any exception to a withdrawal right must meet the legal conditions and cannot arise from these terms alone.
Where applicable, information about an out-of-court consumer dispute resolution provider must be given in the relevant offer or complaint response as required by law. These terms do not require binding arbitration or waive access to a competent court.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or law. The current version and update date appear on this page. Material changes affecting existing account agreements must be communicated in advance where required, together with their effective date and any applicable options.
New terms do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. Where consent or a new agreement is legally required, merely continuing to browse the website is not a substitute for that requirement.
19. Governing law and remaining provisions
These terms are governed by Slovenian law. This choice does not override applicable overriding mandatory rules or deprive consumers of mandatory protection under the law that would otherwise apply. Disputes may be brought before the courts competent under applicable rules; consumers retain any mandatory rights to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction.
If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of future rights. Separate written agreements and accepted plan conditions take precedence for the specific matters they govern, without overriding mandatory law.
